Feeling unwell and struggling to get seen? Here's what a private minor illness consultation at KRevive covers, how it works alongside your NHS GP, and when you should use 999 or NHS 111 instead.

When you're feeling unwell, waiting for an appointment can be frustrating. A private minor illness consultation gives you timely access to assessment and treatment for short-term health concerns, while you stay registered with your NHS GP.

What can be seen?

At KRevive, our clinicians assess a range of common, non-emergency health concerns, including:

  • earache
  • sore throats
  • sinus symptoms
  • urinary symptoms
  • skin conditions
  • minor infections

What happens during the appointment?

Your clinician will ask about your symptoms and medical history, examine you where needed, and explain what they think is going on. Depending on what they find, they can:

  • give treatment advice
  • issue a private prescription, where clinically appropriate
  • refer you on for further care if you need it

Appointments are with members of our clinical team: Katrina Read, Liz Everett and Dr Sam.

How it fits with your NHS care

Our service complements NHS primary care rather than replacing it, and all patients should stay registered with an NHS GP. It's designed for acute, short-term problems. If you need ongoing monitoring or management of a long-term condition, we'll refer you back to your GP or to an appropriate specialist.

When not to book

A minor illness clinic isn't the right place for an emergency.

  • Call 999 for a life-threatening emergency, such as chest pain, difficulty breathing, signs of a stroke or heavy bleeding.
  • Use NHS 111 online or by phone if you need urgent advice and aren't sure where to go.
