Aesthetic treatments can be a great confidence boost, but they're medical procedures. Before you book anywhere, these are the questions worth asking.
1. Are you a registered healthcare professional?
Ask what your practitioner's professional background is. Nurses are registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) and doctors with the General Medical Council (GMC), and you can check both registers online. At KRevive, aesthetic treatments are carried out by Katrina Read, a Registered General Nurse and Independent Nurse Prescriber with over 20 years' nursing experience, including more than six years specialising in non-surgical treatments.
2. Will I have a proper consultation first?
A good practitioner will assess your health, medical history and facial anatomy before recommending anything. Some treatments involve prescription-only medicines. These need a face-to-face clinical assessment by a prescriber, who will decide whether treatment is appropriate. Treatment should never be guaranteed before that assessment.
3. Will I have time to think it over?
For prescription treatments at KRevive, your consultation and treatment are separate appointments. That gives you time to consider the information, ask questions and decide without pressure.
4. What product will you use, and where does it come from?
Ask for the product name and how it was sourced. KRevive uses genuine, UK-authorised prescription products from regulated UK suppliers, and records product and batch details in your notes. For dermal fillers, we use established brands including TEOSYAL® by TEOXANE and JUVÉDERM®.
5. Where will the treatment take place?
A clinical environment matters for hygiene, privacy and safety. KRevive's treatments take place in private rooms at our CQC-registered clinic in Corby.
6. What are the risks, and what results are realistic?
Every treatment carries possible side effects, and results vary from person to person. Your practitioner should explain both clearly and honestly before you agree to anything. Be wary of anyone promising guaranteed results.
7. What happens if I have a concern afterwards?
You should leave with clear aftercare guidance and details of how and when to contact the clinic. Ask who you'd see if something didn't feel right.
Ready to talk it through?
If you're considering treatment for lines and wrinkles, volume loss or skin quality, a consultation is the place to start. Contact KRevive to arrange one.
